HMS Endurance A171 Ice Breaker Patrol Ship 17 February 2007 Antarctic Photo Print
HMS Endurance (A171), a Royal Navy ice patrol ship, sits in glassy water alongside a long, straight wall of flat-topped ice on 17 February 2007, during her Antarctic Peninsula patrol. The photo is taken from the air off her starboard bow. Her red hull and white superstructure are mirrored almost perfectly in the calm sea, the ice cliff shows a band of turquoise at the waterline, and a dark, bare headland rises beyond scattered bergs in the distance.
The 2007 season proved to be one of her last. In December 2008 severe flooding in her machinery spaces in the Strait of Magellan left her without propulsion, and a Chilean tug towed her to Punta Arenas. She came home to Portsmouth on board a semi-submersible heavy-lift ship in April 2009 and never returned to service. HMS Protector later took over the ice patrol role.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
