HMS Faulknor H62 F Class Destroyer 1939 to 1945 Photo Print
HMS Faulknor (H62), a Royal Navy F Class destroyer and leader of her flotilla, is seen broadside from her port side during the Second World War, her hull weathered and streaked from hard service. Her two funnels, the after one painted with bands, her bridge and guns stand out on calm water, with a pennant at her foremast, a flag aft and low hills on either side of the anchorage.
Built on the Tyne for Yarrow and completed in May 1935, she earned eleven battle honours and the nickname of the hardest worked destroyer in the fleet. On 14th September 1939, with her sisters Foxhound and Firedrake, she sank U-39 after it attacked HMS Ark Royal, the first U-boat lost in the war, and she went on to fight off Norway, rescue 52 men from the Polish destroyer Grom, and serve with Force H on the Malta convoys and in the Bismarck hunt. She escorted convoys to Russia, supported the landings in Sicily, at Salerno and off Juno Beach in Normandy, and on 8th May 1945 accepted the surrender of the German garrison at St Peter Port, Guernsey, before being broken up at Milford Haven in 1946.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
