HMS Foresight H68 F Class Destroyer July 1942 Photo Print
HMS Foresight (H68), a Royal Navy F Class destroyer, is under way in a choppy sea on 2nd July 1942, seen broadside from her port side with her pennant number on the hull and a few men on her forecastle. A wisp of smoke rises from her forward funnel, and her worn wartime paintwork shows along her side beneath a pale sky, just six weeks before her loss.
Built by Cammell Laird at Birkenhead and completed in May 1935, she escorted the fleet in the early months of the war, served off Norway and joined Force H at Gibraltar for Mers-el-Kébir, Dakar and the Malta convoys of 1941. In the spring of 1942 she sailed with HMS Edinburgh on the Arctic convoys PQ 14 and QP 11, and when the crippled cruiser was attacked by German destroyers in May, Foresight lost eight men killed before she was ordered to sink Edinburgh with a torpedo. On 12th August 1942, during Operation Pedestal, an Italian torpedo bomber broke her back, killing four of her men, and after repeated attempts to tow her, HMS Tartar took off her 181 survivors and scuttled her the next morning.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
