HMS Havock H43 H Class Destroyer 1937 to 1942 Photo Print
HMS Havock (H43), a Royal Navy H Class destroyer, is under way across a dark, rippled sea, seen broadside from her port side in pale peacetime grey with her pennant number painted on the bow. Her after funnel carries bold dark bands, her forward guns and bridge stand out against a bright sky, and an ensign flies at her stern above a low white wake.
Built by William Denny and Brothers at Dumbarton and completed in January 1937, she survived a torpedo attack by the Italian submarine Iride off Spain that summer while enforcing the arms blockade. At the First Battle of Narvik in April 1940 she was third into the harbour, her torpedo breaking the German destroyer Anton Schmitt in two, and at Cape Matapan in March 1941 she sank the Italian destroyer Vittorio Alfieri. Damaged by dive bombers off Crete and again by a near miss from the battleship Littorio at the Second Battle of Sirte, she was ordered out of bomb-battered Malta before her repairs were finished, and on 6th April 1942 she ran aground off Kelibia in Tunisia, her crew interned by the Vichy French in the Sahara until that November.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
