HMS Herald H138 Hecla Class Survey Vessel c1996 Grey Hull Turning Photo Print
HMS Herald, a Royal Navy Hecla Class survey vessel, swings through a turn in open water, seen from above off her port bow with her original pennant A138 painted on her side and a broad curve of white wake sweeping round astern. Here she wears an all-grey paint scheme rather than survey white, under a heavy layer of cloud with a pale band of light low on the horizon. The photograph dates from about 1996. She carried A138 from 1974 until 1998, when her pennant number became H138.
After Iraq invaded Kuwait in August 1990, Herald was sent to the eastern Mediterranean to support the minehunters of the 3rd Mine Countermeasures Squadron, and later moved on to the Gulf. She was still on station when the air campaign opened in January 1991, and was then relieved by her sister HMS Hecla.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
