HMS Illustrious R06 Invincible Class Aircraft Carrier July 2011 Portsmouth Return Aerial View Photo Print
HMS Illustrious (R06), a Royal Navy Invincible Class aircraft carrier, enters Portsmouth Harbour on 7 July 2011, seen from high above with the Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays and the rooftops of Portsmouth stretching away behind her. Four tugs work around the carrier as exhaust drifts from her funnels, and the wide view takes in the naval base and the upper harbour beyond.
This homecoming ended 16 months in Rosyth Dockyard in Fife, where a £40 million maintenance and upgrade period turned her into a helicopter and commando carrier. After the work she could operate up to 20 helicopters and carry around 600 fully equipped troops, taking on the role while HMS Ocean went into her own refit.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
