HMS Invincible R05 Invincible Class Aircraft Carrier May 1990 Underway Port Side Photo Print
HMS Invincible (R05), a Royal Navy Invincible Class aircraft carrier, runs fast across open water in May 1990, shown from a distance off her port side with a long white wake streaming out astern. Set against a wide expanse of dark blue sea and a pale, hazy sky, she appears small but unmistakable, her ski jump at the bow on the left and a few aircraft on deck aft, during the Mediterranean exercise Dragon Hammer 90.
Invincible was the first of three sisters, followed by HMS Illustrious and HMS Ark Royal, and the class kept Royal Navy fixed-wing flying at sea alive through the Cold War and beyond. The 1981 defence review marked her for sale to Australia, a deal agreed early in 1982 and then cancelled after the Falklands War showed how much the fleet needed her. She went on to serve for more than two decades after that reprieve.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
