HMS Jupiter F60 Leander Class Frigate February 1974 Photo Print
HMS Jupiter (F60), a Leander Class frigate, lies almost still on flat water in New Zealand in February 1974, her starboard side turned to the camera and misty hills rising behind her. Sailors line the waist just aft of the twin 4.5-inch gun turret, a handful more stand right up in the bows, and the White Ensign hangs limp at her stern under a low grey sky. This black and white view shows her original Leander fit, with the big air warning radar aerial on its own mast between the funnel and the stern.
Jupiter's 1974 programme took her on across the Pacific, with a visit to Christchurch during the Commonwealth Games and a call at Pearl Harbor for repairs to her propulsion. In January that year the Prince of Wales joined her ship's company as Communications Officer, staying with her until she returned to the United Kingdom.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
