HMS Kent F78 Type 23 Frigate 4 April 2013 Photo Print
HMS Kent (F78) is shown from straight overhead on 4 April 2013, lying diagonally across the frame with her bow to the upper right and her wake trailing off the lower left corner. The deep blue water around her is broken into bright ripples of sunlight, and the flight deck with its landing circle is empty. From this angle the layout of a Type 23 reads like a plan, with the missile silo forward, the funnel amidships and the hangar aft.
The picture comes from a photographic exercise flown over Kent early in her 2013 deployment, when she was bound for counter-piracy work, and pictures from that shoot formed part of Joel Rouse's portfolio that was highly commended in the Royal Navy's Peregrine photographic awards that year. The Type 23 or Duke class, with every ship named after a British dukedom, was designed chiefly for anti-submarine warfare, using quiet diesel-electric drive for hunting and gas turbines for speed. Kent is one of the later ships of the class, sixteen of which were built.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
