HMS King George V 41 King George V Class Battleship Photo Print
HMS King George V (41), a King George V Class battleship, driving hard through Scapa Flow, seen along her port side with a heavy bow wave breaking white at her stem. The photograph is taken from a height, so her forward quadruple and twin 14 inch turrets, the tall bridge tower and both funnels stand out clearly, with a low line of Orkney shoreline across the horizon. The photograph is undated.
She was built by Vickers-Armstrongs at Walker on the Tyne, laid down on 1 January 1937 and launched on 21 February 1939 by King George VI, who named her after his father. Commissioned in December 1940, she carried ten 14 inch guns in an unusual arrangement of two four-gun turrets and one twin. In May 1941 she and HMS Rodney fought the final action against the German battleship Bismarck, reducing her to a burning wreck before she sank.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
