HMS Leeds Castle P258 Castle Class Patrol Vessel 1984 Photo Print
HMS Leeds Castle (P258), a Royal Navy Castle Class patrol vessel, enters Portsmouth on 7 July 1984, shown broadside on with her bow to the right, so it is her starboard side that faces the camera. A group of her ship's company stands fallen in at the after rail beneath a large White Ensign, signal flags fly from her mast, and a low line of shore lies beyond her under a pale, hazy sky. Rust streaks run down from her hawse pipe.
Leeds Castle went south within a year of commissioning to take part in the 1982 Falklands War, working as a despatch vessel between Ascension Island, South Georgia and the Falklands. She reached the Total Exclusion Zone on 21 May, and off South Georgia on 27 May her large flight deck served as a refuelling platform for helicopters moving stores between the Queen Elizabeth 2, Canberra and Norland. This photo was taken only two years after that campaign.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
