HMS Loch Alvie F428 K428 Loch Class Frigate Photo Print
HMS Loch Alvie (F428), a Loch Class frigate, is under way in harbour at Valletta, Malta, in this raised view of her starboard side, with the stone buildings and low rocky shore of the waterfront behind her and warships moored further up the harbour. Sailors in white are fallen in on her forecastle, a Union Flag flies at the jackstaff and a hoist of signal flags is at the yard. She carries her postwar F pennant number, a twin gun mounting forward and a large radar aerial on her lattice mast. Undated.
Laid up after the war, she recommissioned in April 1950 for the 6th Frigate Flotilla of the Home Fleet, then went into Portsmouth Dockyard from October 1952 to January 1954 for the refit that gave her the gun and radar fit seen here. She spent most of the rest of her career in the Persian Gulf, where in April 1961 she worked to fight the fires aboard the burning liner Dara and later that year took part in Operation Vantage off Kuwait. She paid off at Singapore in November 1963 and was sold for scrap in September 1965.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
