HMS Marlborough 1912 Iron Duke Class Battleship Photo Print
HMS Marlborough, a Royal Navy Iron Duke Class battleship, lies at anchor, seen along her port side from off the beam, with awnings spread over her quarterdeck and boats made fast alongside aft, one of them a steam picket boat. Her forward 13.5-inch turrets are trained ahead, signal flags fly from the tripod foremast and thin smoke drifts up amidships. A jack flies at her bow and the White Ensign at her stern, and she is shown complete and in commission, with harbour routine in progress.
Marlborough was built at Devonport Royal Dockyard, laid down in January 1912, launched that October and commissioned on 2 June 1914, weeks before war broke out. She carried ten 13.5-inch guns in five twin turrets. At Jutland, on the evening of 31 May 1916, a torpedo from the German cruiser Wiesbaden tore a hole some 28 feet across in her starboard side and killed two of her ship's company, yet she held her place in the line. In April 1919 she went into the Black Sea to Yalta and took off the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, aunt of King George V, together with about eighty other members of the Imperial family and their households.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
