HMS Montrose F236 Type 23 Frigate January 2014 Photo Print
HMS Montrose (F236), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, shot from ahead and a little to starboard in January 2014, coming on with a white bow wave across a grey sea under a pale, hazy sky. Sailors are at work on the forecastle beside the gun mounting and the Harpoon tubes, and the bar aerial of her Type 996 radar still sits at the masthead, the set that her mid life refit later replaced.
That month she joined Operation RECSYR, the Danish led mission to carry the ingredients of Syria's chemical weapons programme out of the country by sea for destruction. Working off Cyprus alongside Norwegian and Danish warships, she escorted the merchant vessels loading the cargo while her Lynx flew surface searches around them. On 13 February 2014, alongside in Limassol, Sigrid Kaag, head of the joint mission set up by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the United Nations, came aboard to thank the ship for her part. Ten days later Montrose handed the task to HMS Diamond and turned for home.

This print is ideal for those who served in HMS Montrose during Operation RECSYR, and anyone with a connection to the international effort to remove Syria's chemical weapons.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
