HMS Montrose F236 Type 23 Frigate February 2007 Photo Print
HMS Montrose (F236), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, lies at anchor off the coast of South Georgia in this aerial view, a small grey shape on clear turquoise water beneath a dark, jagged ridge that falls away in long scree slopes to a black shingle beach. The anchorage is almost mirror calm, while low cloud sits over the open sea beyond the headland. The Ministry of Defence file carries a February 2007 date, but its own caption places her in the South Atlantic on the patrol deployment she made from late 2011 into 2012.
She was the eighth of the sixteen Type 23 frigates, the Duke Class, and takes her name from the Duke of Montrose. Yarrow Shipbuilders on the Clyde laid her down in November 1989, and she was launched on 31 July 1992 by Edith Rifkind, wife of the then Secretary of State for Defence, Malcolm Rifkind. She commissioned in June 1994 and went on to give the Royal Navy nearly thirty years of service.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
