HMS Northumberland F238 Type 23 Frigate May 2010 Photo Print
HMS Northumberland (F238), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, under way on 5 May 2010, the camera high above her and a little off her starboard bow, far enough back to take in her whole length from the gun forward to the flight deck aft. The sea is a deep blue broken by small white crests, the sky clear but hazy down at the horizon, and a bow wave and a long wash run the length of her hull. Her mast and radar aerials stand against the pale sky, and the two angled groups of Harpoon launchers sit abaft the gun and the missile silo.
She had sailed from Devonport on 19 April 2010 for what turned into an eight month patrol, part of a multi national effort against the routes used to smuggle arms, people and money to terrorist groups. Most of her work was done in the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Oman and the Somali Basin, under a task force directed from Bahrain. Training carried on throughout, and in the October she took the chance to run a firing serial with her 4.5 inch gun.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
