HMS Northumberland F238 Type 23 Frigate September 2019 Port Side View Photo Print
HMS Northumberland (F238), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, closer in and angled across the frame on 23 September 2019, a view from off her port bow during the carrier group's photo exercise in the Atlantic. From here the run of the forecastle, the 4.5 inch gun, the bridge front and the lattice foremast above it all stand clear against dark blue water, with the hangar and flight deck falling away aft. White water breaks along her port side and a short wake follows her, the horizon sitting high under a pale band of low cloud.
Her name goes back to a 70 gun ship of the line of 1679, and she was the eighth warship of the Royal Navy to carry it. The title came from the Dukes of Northumberland, and every frigate in her class took a ducal name in the same way, which is why the Type 23 is also known as the Duke class. The county affiliation stayed with her for the whole of her service, and with it close ties to the North East of England.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
