HMS Ocean L12 Landing Platform Helicopter July 2014 Handover Photo Print
HMS Ocean (L12), a Royal Navy Landing Platform Helicopter, comes head-on towards the camera off the south coast on 22 July 2014, with the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious (R06) in the background on the day the outgoing carrier formally passed her helicopter carrier duties to Ocean. Seen from above off her port bow, Ocean cuts through calm green water with smoke drifting from her funnel, vehicles parked forward on her flight deck and a helicopter ranged further aft. Illustrious lies broadside in the distance, port side to the camera, with a hazy coastline behind her and a merchant ship on the far horizon.
Ocean was launched in October 1995 and commissioned in 1998, serving off Sierra Leone, in the Iraq war of 2003, off Libya in 2011 and on the Thames during the London 2012 Olympics, and taking over from Illustrious as the fleet’s helicopter carrier. She was decommissioned at Devonport in March 2018 and sold to Brazil, where she serves as Atlântico. Illustrious, the last of the Invincible Class carriers, made her final entry into Portsmouth later that day, was decommissioned in August 2014 after 32 years and was towed to Turkey for scrapping in December 2016.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
