HMS Ocean L12 Landing Platform Helicopter June 2015 At Anchor Photo Print
HMS Ocean (L12), a Royal Navy landing platform helicopter, lying at anchor off Ustka on the Polish coast on 16 June 2015, during Exercise BALTOPS. Her bow is to the right of the frame with the cable running down into the water, so the side facing the camera is her starboard side, and a Chinook is lifting away from the flight deck. Two of her landing craft are making their way back to her across the water, figures stand along the forward end of the flight deck, and low warm light falls on the ship and the wooded shore behind her.
Ocean was ordered in 1993 and built on the Clyde by Kvaerner Govan. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II launched her in October 1995, after which she was towed round to Barrow-in-Furness for VSEL to fit her out and put in her military equipment. She commissioned at Devonport on 30 September 1998, the first ship designed and built from the keel up as a helicopter carrier for the Royal Navy, and she was put together largely to merchant ship standards to keep the price down. Four LCVP Mk5 hung at her davits, so Royal Marines could go ashore by boat as well as by air.

This print is ideal for HMS Ocean's 2015 ship's company and anyone with a connection to the amphibious landings at Ustka.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
