HMS Ocelot S17 Oberon Class Submarine 1989 Panama Photo Print
HMS Ocelot (S17), an Oberon Class submarine, comes bow on towards the camera as she approaches the Miraflores Locks on 1 October 1989, a tug following a short way astern of her. Crew stand at the bridge at the top of the fin below a raised mast and a whip aerial curving away above them, and more of her company are out on the forward casing. A channel marker buoy sits in the water beyond her and the cut bank behind carries a row of lamp standards.
This transit came towards the end of Ocelot's last deployment, which ran from July to December 1989. It took her south for patrols in the Falkland Islands exclusion zone, where the Royal Navy kept submarines on station in the years after the 1982 conflict, then round Cape Horn and up the Pacific coast with calls in Chile before she turned for home through the canal. Her commanding officer for that deployment was Lieutenant Trevor Soar, to whom she was a first command.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
