HMS Oracle S16 Oberon Class Submarine Port Side Photo Print
HMS Oracle (S16), a Royal Navy Oberon Class submarine, pushes a heavy bow wave in this port side view, heading towards the left of the picture with the bulbous housing on her forward casing standing clear against the sea. White water washes the length of her casing aft, a whip aerial rises from the top of her fin, and the sky above is pale and empty. The date of the photograph is not recorded.
Oracle was one of the boats used for the Submarine Command Course, the Perisher, and she appeared in the BBC series Submarine filmed during the 1980s, which followed trainee commanding officers to sea. Diesel electric boats of her generation carried a complement of sixty eight in very cramped conditions, with patrols measured in weeks. She paid off on 18 September 1993 after thirty years in commission, went to a Portsmouth scrapyard in 1997, and breaking up was finished in 2003.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
