HMS Tremadoc Bay K605 Bay Class Frigate Photo Print
HMS Tremadoc Bay (K605), a Royal Navy Bay Class frigate, lies at anchor in sheltered water with her starboard side to the camera. Figures stand on her after deck by the guardrails, the ensign streams from the staff aft, and the after twin four inch mounting stands clear on its deckhouse above them. A small open boat floats close off her quarter, hazy shipping shows along the horizon, and no date is recorded for the photograph.
She was ordered from Harland and Wolff at Belfast in May 1943 as the Loch Class frigate Loch Arnish, then redrawn to the Bay Class anti-aircraft design and laid down in August 1944. Launched on 29 March 1945 and completed on 11 October 1945, she was finished too late for the war she had been ordered for. Her first task was to tow the surrendered German submarine U-3035 from Lisahally to the Baltic for handover to the Soviet Navy in November 1945. She then served with the local flotilla at Plymouth until she went into reserve in 1951, and was sold to an Italian breaker in 1959.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
