HMS Penzance M106 Sandown Class Minehunter August 2005 Port Bow View Photo Print
HMS Penzance (M106), a Sandown Class minehunter, is at sea off the Northern Ireland coast on 29 August 2005, photographed from a helicopter above her port bow. Sunlight glitters over the water on every side of her and a broad band of broken water stretches across the surface behind. From this height her upper deck lies open, the covered gear and winches on her forecastle, the low bridge amidships and her crane and mine countermeasures equipment right aft.
In place of shafts and rudders she was driven by Voith Schneider propulsion units, which with a bow thruster let her hold position over a contact even in a running tide. Her Type 2093 variable depth sonar could be streamed below the surface layer to search down to around two hundred metres, deeper than a hull mounted set could reach. A ship's company of about forty ran her, among them mine clearance divers and the operators of her remotely controlled disposal vehicles.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
