HMS Phoebe F42 Leander Class Frigate At Anchor Photo Print
HMS Phoebe (F42), a Royal Navy Leander Class frigate, at anchor in sheltered water, seen from off her port beam with her cable running out of the hawse pipe into the sea and an accommodation ladder rigged down her side. Her twin 4.5 inch mounting is gone, and four Exocet canisters sit in pairs where it once stood, with a flat lattice air warning aerial stepped above the superstructure abaft the funnel. Sailors line the after guardrails, her name is painted in red low on the quarter, and yachts and a low shoreline lie beyond her under a clouded sky.
Phoebe was built by Alexander Stephen and Sons at Linthouse on the Clyde, laid down on 25 July 1963, launched on 19 December 1964 and commissioned on 15 May 1966. In 1969 she was one of the ships at the Spithead review marking the twentieth anniversary of NATO. Two years later she was in the West Indies, acting as guard ship during talks between the Prime Minister, Edward Heath, and President Nixon, and in that same year the frigate HMS Berwick collided with her in Portsmouth Harbour and left her with minor damage.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
