HMS Phoebe F42 Leander Class Frigate Firing Photo Print
HMS Phoebe (F42), a Royal Navy Leander Class frigate, with a missile away from her forward launcher, a heavy bank of smoke rolling over the forecastle and the trail climbing out beyond her bow. The high viewpoint lies off her starboard quarter and looks forward down the length of the hull, past the flight deck and hangar, as she drives ahead with the bow wave folding back from her stem. A group of her ship's company watch from the port side of the flight deck, by the open hangar door.
Between 1974 and 1977 Phoebe was rebuilt as one of the Exocet Leanders. The twin 4.5 inch turret came out and four MM38 Exocet canisters were fitted on the forecastle in its place, with a second quadruple Seacat mounting added for close air defence. In late 1977 her commanding officer led a small task group to the South Atlantic, with the frigate HMS Alacrity, the nuclear submarine HMS Dreadnought and two Royal Fleet Auxiliaries in support, sent quietly to deter Argentine action against British territory. She returned to those waters in September 1982 for patrol duties after the Falklands conflict.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
