HMS Plover P240 Peacock Class Patrol Vessel July 1986 High Port Side View Photo Print
HMS Plover (P240), a Royal Navy Peacock Class patrol vessel, at sea on 18 July 1986, looking down on her port side from a high angle. The whole length of her is in view, from the gun mounting on the forecastle, past the bridge and the mast with its aerials, to the crane and open working deck aft, with her ship's badge on the funnel casing. A White Ensign flies at the masthead and white water breaks along her waterline in an otherwise quiet sea.
The five Peacock class vessels were built by Hall, Russell and Company at Aberdeen, Plover being launched on 12 April 1983. They were ordered for one task, the Hong Kong Squadron, and were unusually well armed for their size, carrying a 76mm Oto Melara Compact gun on a hull of around 700 tonnes. Air conditioned throughout and built to stay at sea through a typhoon, each ship also carried two Avon Sea Rider fast boats for boarding work. Three quarters of the cost of building them was met by the Hong Kong government.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
