HMS Plover P240 Peacock Class Patrol Vessel November 1995 Photo Print
HMS Plover (P240), a Peacock Class patrol vessel, off Hong Kong on 1 November 1995, under way in a blue, lightly broken sea with high ground faint on the horizon astern of her. The camera is low, close to sea level and a little forward of her port beam, so she stands against an empty sky, her hull dark against the pale grey of the bridge and mast. A thin haze of exhaust rises above her funnel cap and the crane stands up over the working deck aft.
By the middle of the 1990s the squadron's days were numbered, with the handover of Hong Kong to China fixed for 1 July 1997. Plover, Peacock and Starling were turned over to the Philippine Navy on 1 August 1997, Plover recommissioning three days later as the Emilio Jacinto class corvette BRP Apolinario Mabini. She is still in service under that flag, and has now spent more than twice as long in Philippine hands as she did in British ones.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
