HMS Portland F79 Type 23 Frigate Port Bow View At Sea Photo Print
HMS Portland (F79), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, runs through a deep blue sea flecked with white horses, the camera high above her port bow. Two groups of Harpoon canisters stand angled outboard between her gun and her bridge, and her 4.5 inch gun is trained forward over the fo'c'sle. Her flight deck aft is empty and cloud builds along the skyline behind her.
The Type 23s carried the Harpoon anti-ship missile in launchers like these for most of their service, and the Royal Navy took the system out of use at the end of 2023, with the Naval Strike Missile coming in to replace it. Portland's patrols have taken her a long way from home: in July 2010 she spent several days working around South Georgia in the South Atlantic, and in August 2015 she went to the help of a transatlantic rowing crew still short of their finish.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
