HMS Queen Elizabeth R08 Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier December 2021 Photo Print
HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08), a Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier, coming up Portsmouth Harbour on 9 December 2021 at the end of her first operational deployment, her port side towards the camera and her bow pointing up towards the naval base. Sailors stand shoulder to shoulder along the flight deck edge and up the slope of the ski jump, tugs work about her bow and stern, the White Ensign flies from her staff right aft, and people crowd the Hot Walls at Old Portsmouth to watch her pass. Her sister ship lies alongside in the dockyard beyond, the Spinnaker Tower rises over Gunwharf, and the whole scene sits under a flat grey December sky.
The deployment behind her had run seven months and taken the group through the Mediterranean, down the Suez Canal, across the Indian Ocean and into the Pacific before turning for home. Some 3,700 sailors, aviators and Royal Marines came back with it, drawn from nine ships, a submarine and five air squadrons. The rest of the group then went on to home bases in Britain, the United States and the Netherlands.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
