HMS Repulse 1916 Renown Class Battlecruiser 1916 Photo Print
HMS Repulse (1916), a Renown Class battlecruiser, from above and a little off her starboard bow as she runs through choppy water. Both forward turrets and their twin 15 inch guns show clearly at this angle, with the tripod foremast and its enclosed control top rising over a deep, heavily built up bridge. Her boats sit amidships on their skids and a low bow wave breaks away from her stem.
Repulse paid off in June 1932 and went into the hands of Portsmouth Dockyard, where the most thorough refit of her life began in April 1933. Her deck protection was renewed with non-cemented armour plate up to three and a half inches thick, a fixed catapult took the place of the midships triple 4 inch mounting, and a hangar was built on each side of the after funnel, with an electric crane above each one to handle her Fairey III aircraft. She recommissioned in April 1936, far better protected against plunging fire and attack from the air than the ship that had gone in.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
