HMS Rhyl F129 Rothesay Class Frigate Starboard Bow View Photo Print
HMS Rhyl (F129), a Rothesay Class frigate, at speed in a starboard bow view taken from the air, driving into a short sea with spray breaking over her bows. Sailors stand at the guardrails along the upper deck abaft the bridge, and a long narrow pennant streams from aloft. The light is flat under a pale sky, and the photograph carries no date.
In January 1964 Rhyl was sent to Zanzibar during the revolution there, carrying a company of the 1st Battalion, the Staffordshire Regiment, and joined the survey ship Owen and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary stores ship Hebe in bringing British civilians away from the island. She went on to Tanganyika, where she supported Royal Marines landed from the aircraft carrier Centaur to put down the army mutiny. That East African work came early in her life, while she still had her original anti-submarine outfit.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
