HMS Ribble M2012 River Class Minesweeper May 1986 Photo Print
HMS Ribble (M2012), a Royal Navy River Class minesweeper, heads out past a harbour wall on 5 May 1986, seen along her port side as she leaves Liverpool. A short hoist of signal flags flies from her yard and the White Ensign from her stern, while cranes and red and white sweep floats fill her open after deck. The sea is short and grey under low cloud, breaking in a white wash along her waterline.
Ribble was launched by Richards (Shipbuilders) at Great Yarmouth on 7 May 1985, one of twelve River Class ships built for deep water minesweeping. In 1986 she was commissioned as sea tender to the Mersey Division of the Royal Naval Reserve, the reserve division based at Liverpool. The class was designed for Extra Deep Armed Team Sweeping, in which two ships towed a wire sweep between them to cut the moorings of mines laid in deep water so the mines could be destroyed on the surface.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
