HMS Richmond F239 Type 23 Frigate November 2004 High Bow View Photo Print
HMS Richmond (F239), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, head on from the air, running straight at the camera with white water peeling back from both bows, dated 3 November 2004 during her Caribbean deployment. The forecastle fills the lower half of the frame: two anchor cables weathered to a rusty brown lead back to their capstans, a canvas cover is fitted over the barrel of the 4.5 inch gun, and signal flags fly from the yardarms high above the bridge.
Richmond was launched on the Tyne on 6 April 1993 by Lady Hill-Norton, wife of the late Admiral of the Fleet Lord Hill-Norton, and was the last warship built by Swan Hunter Shipbuilders. She sailed from the builders in November 1994. Her name comes from the Dukedom of Richmond, and she is the seventh ship of the Royal Navy to carry it. Sixteen Type 23, or Duke Class, frigates were built, designed first and foremost to hunt Soviet submarines in the North Atlantic.

This print is ideal for anyone who served in the ship's company of HMS Richmond and for families with a link to the Swan Hunter yards on the Tyne.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
