HMS Rothesay F107 Rothesay Class Frigate November 1983 Photo Print
HMS Rothesay (F107), a Royal Navy Rothesay Class frigate, enters harbour at Fremantle, Western Australia, on 1 November 1983, bow to the right and her sailors fallen in on the forecastle and amidships in whites. A hoist of signal flags flies from her yardarm, a jet of water spurts from an outlet in her side plating and rust has run down the hull beneath her anchor. Behind her stand a quayside crane and a large cargo ship, under a heavy overcast.
There were plans to withdraw Rothesay from service in 1983, the year of this visit, but they were dropped. A decade earlier she had carried out fishery protection patrols in the 1973 Cod War with Iceland, and in 1977, serving with the 8th Frigate Squadron, she attended the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review at Spithead alongside her sisters Plymouth, Berwick and Brighton. When the Falklands conflict began in 1982 she was under repair at Rosyth after striking a sea wall at Esbjerg in Denmark, and she spent the conflict stationed in the Caribbean.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
