HMS Royal Arthur 1891 Edgar Class Cruiser At Anchor Photo Print
HMS Royal Arthur (1891), a Royal Navy Edgar Class cruiser, at anchor in a sheltered bay with hills rising behind her, seen from a little forward of her starboard beam. A Union flag flies at the jack staff above the ornate scrollwork on her bow, an admiral's St George's cross flag is at the head of her foremast and smoke drifts from her forward funnel. Torpedo net booms lie slanted along her side and a small boat floats off her quarter.
Laid down at Portsmouth as Centaur, she was renamed before her launch on 26 February 1891, and with her sister Crescent she was built to a slightly modified Edgar Class design, sometimes treated as a class of their own. She was flagship of the Pacific Station from 1893 to 1896 and of the Australia Station from 1897 to 1904, and in 1901 she escorted the royal yacht Ophir, which carried the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York out to open the first Parliament of the new Commonwealth of Australia. In the First World War she served as a guardship at Scapa Flow and later as a submarine depot ship, and she was sold for breaking up in 1921.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
