HMS Sabre P285 Scimitar Class Fast Patrol Vessel March 2011 Photo Print
HMS Sabre (P285), a Scimitar Class patrol vessel, pushes through a short sea off Gibraltar on 29 March 2011, seen from above on her starboard side with P285 large on the hull and a shark's mouth painted low on her bow. A sailor in a beret stands by the mounted machine gun behind the wheelhouse with a hand to his ear, two more of her crew show through the windows, and the White Ensign streams stiffly from the mast. She was escorting the Type 23 frigate HMS Monmouth into Gibraltar at the time.
From 2003 Sabre worked with the Gibraltar Squadron, patrolling British Gibraltar Territorial Waters and giving protection to visiting warships. After the survey launch Gleaner paid off in 2018, she and Scimitar were the smallest commissioned vessels in the Royal Navy. Both boats came home in 2020, when the Archer Class boats Dasher and Pursuer took over in Gibraltar, and they were decommissioned together at Portsmouth on 30 March 2022.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
