HMS Sealion S07 Porpoise Class Submarine Photo Print
HMS Sealion (S07), a Royal Navy Porpoise Class submarine, runs on the surface across a calm, hazy sea in this undated colour photograph, seen broadside on from her port side with her bow to the left of the frame. Men are out on the casing forward and aft of the fin, more figures stand on top of the fin, and a small bow wave curls away from her stem. No land is in sight.
Sealion was one of the eight Porpoise Class boats, the first submarines designed and built for the Royal Navy after the Second World War. She was laid down at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead in June 1958, launched on 31 December 1959 and commissioned on 25 July 1961. In 1963 she was watching a Soviet naval exercise when she was detected and forced to the surface by Soviet warships. She attended the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review at Spithead in 1977 and paid off in December 1987.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
