HMS Somerset F82 Type 23 Frigate October 2015 Photo Print
HMS Somerset (F82), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, seen from directly overhead as she drives through dark open water on 13 October 2015. Working aft from the bow, the eye runs over the 4.5in gun, the Sea Wolf missile silo, the Harpoon launchers ahead of the bridge, the mast and funnel, and finally her empty flight deck with its deck letters painted near the stern. White water peels away from both sides of the hull and a broad, churning wake trails astern.
The frame belongs to the portfolio that won the Peregrine Trophy, the award in the Royal Navy's photographic competition for the best set of six Service prints from a section or unit. The Type 23s were conceived in the 1980s as anti-submarine frigates for the North Atlantic, and Somerset is one of those fitted with the Sonar 2087 towed array for that work. She was the eleventh of her class to join the fleet.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
