HMS Somerset F82 Type 23 Frigate March 2022 Photo Print
HMS Somerset (F82), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, crossing Plymouth Sound on 24 March 2022 as she headed to sea for the first time in almost four years. The view is from fine on her port bow, with sailors gathered on the forecastle around the gun and more out on the bridge wings, and her grey hull clean after the dockyard. Behind her the Hoe rises under a pale, hazy sky, with the red and white bands of Smeaton's Tower and the Plymouth Naval Memorial standing out on the right.
Her life extension refit had begun at Babcock's Devonport yard in November 2018 and ran to more than a million hours of work. Besides hull repairs and better living spaces, she exchanged Sea Wolf for the Sea Ceptor air defence missile, had the replacement of her four diesel generators completed and received more than 500 structural inserts to strengthen the hull. She was the latest of the Navy's twelve Type 23s at the time to finish the programme.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
