HMS Spartan S105 Swiftsure Class Submarine 1993 Photo Print
HMS Spartan (S105), a Royal Navy Swiftsure Class submarine, runs on the surface off the Gare Loch in Scotland on 19 March 1993, seen from her starboard side with a bow wave rolling back along her casing. Men of the watch stand on the bridge at the top of the fin, the White Ensign streams from a short staff behind them, and her masts are raised. Heavy grey cloud hangs over the hills, and houses and trees line the far shore down to the water.
Spartan was laid down by Vickers at Barrow-in-Furness in April 1976 and launched in 1978 by Lady Lygo, wife of Admiral Sir Raymond Lygo. She was commissioned on 22 September 1979 with Commander Nigel Goodwin as her first commanding officer. She had been in commission for thirteen and a half years when this photograph was taken.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
