HMS St Albans F83 Type 23 Frigate Starboard View Photo Print
HMS St Albans (F83), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, pushes through a deep blue sea, photographed from above off her starboard bow with spray breaking along her side. A Merlin helicopter is parked on the flight deck at the stern and a light haze hangs over the horizon. When and where it was taken is not known.
The Type 23 was designed around quiet running for anti-submarine work, using a combined diesel-electric and gas turbine (CODLAG) layout that lets the ship move slowly on electric motors while her sonar listens. The flight deck and hangar are sized for a Merlin, whose own dipping sonar and torpedoes carry the hunt far beyond the frigate's horizon.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
