HMS Tabard P342 T Class Submarine 1950 Photo Print
HMS Tabard (P342), a Royal Navy T Class submarine, lies on a calm sea beneath a heavy, overcast sky, dated 1950, with a line of hills and mountains across the horizon behind her. She is seen from her port side with P342 painted on her conning tower, her deck gun still fitted and the bulged external torpedo tube casing at her bow plain to see, the wartime T Class outline before her later streamlining.
Tabard was built by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering at Greenock, launched on 21 November 1945 and completed on 25 June 1946, too late for war service, and was first sent to the Mediterranean. She was later streamlined, with her bridge worked into an enclosed fin and her deck gun removed. In 1960 she joined the 4th Submarine Squadron at Sydney, giving the Royal Australian Navy and its escorts an opponent for anti-submarine training, and had a long refit at Cockatoo Island Dockyard in 1961 and 1962. From 1969 she was a static training submarine at HMS Dolphin, Gosport, until HMS Alliance took over the role, and she was sold for scrap in 1974.

This print is ideal for anyone who served in or trained aboard HMS Tabard, from Sydney to Gosport, and those with links to the post-war submarine service.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
