HMS Tigris N63 T Class Submarine Photo Print
HMS Tigris (N63), a T Class submarine, lies in a trot of submarines alongside a depot ship, with the high side of the depot ship and her masts and derricks on the left and snow-covered mountains rising beyond the water. Sailors and officers stand on the casings and bridges, a pennant is painted on the conning tower of the boat inboard, and the sky is heavy and grey. The date and place are not recorded.
Tigris was laid down at Chatham Dockyard, launched in October 1939 and commissioned on 20 June 1940. In August 1941 she and HMS Trident were sent to Polyarny in north Russia to attack German coastal traffic off Norway, the first British submarines to operate from there. Moving to the Mediterranean late in 1942, she was lost with all hands off Naples, most likely to depth charges from the German submarine chaser UJ 2210 on 27 February 1943.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
