HMS Tireless S88 Trafalgar Class Submarine 2007 ICEX Photo Print
HMS Tireless (S88), a Royal Navy Trafalgar Class submarine, lies surfaced in the Arctic pack ice during ICEX 2007, photographed from the air in March 2007. Her long dark hull sits in a pool of refrozen ice with broken slabs piled along her side, a few crew in red and dark cold weather clothing stand on the casing and the fin, and her upper rudder rises out of the ice astern. A ridge of broken ice runs across the snowfield beyond her.
ICEX 2007 took Tireless under the Arctic ice with the American submarine USS Alexandria, working from a US Navy ice camp on a drifting floe north of Alaska. On 21 March 2007, while she was under the ice, an oxygen generating candle exploded in her forward escape compartment, killing two of her ship's company, Paul McCann and Anthony Huntrod, and injuring a third. She surfaced through the ice, her reactor unaffected, and the injured man was flown out to a US military hospital.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
