Royal Navy Merlin Mk4 Helicopter Silhouette Norway 2024 Photo Print
A Commando Merlin Mk4 seen entirely in silhouette as it crosses a bank of bright cloud above a shadowed, wind-sculpted snow slope in Norway on 22 February 2024. Only the outline of the rotors, tail and lowered wheels shows against the light, and a patch of blue sky breaks through at the upper right. The flight formed part of a day of Commando Helicopter Force gunnery in Norway under Exercise Steadfast Defender.
Steadfast Defender 24 was NATO's largest exercise since the end of the Cold War, involving around 90,000 personnel across the alliance. Its Nordic Response phase in Norway, Sweden and Finland tested allied forces in the far north, and the UK Commando Force took part. Commando Merlins moved troops, stores and casualties across terrain where roads are few and the snow lies deep for months.
This print is ideal for those who deployed on Steadfast Defender or Nordic Response 24 and anyone with a connection to the Commando Helicopter Force.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
