Royal Navy Merlin Helicopters Landing HMS Prince of Wales Photo Print
Two Merlins line up nose-on to the camera along the painted centreline of HMS Prince of Wales's flight deck on 18 October 2024. The nearer machine, carrying the Crowsnest radar dome on her side, hovers above the deck, while a second Merlin already down behind her is held by lashings. The shot is taken from low on the deck, with the sea horizon and a pale sky behind.
These aircraft were among four 820 Naval Air Squadron Merlins that flew aboard the carrier that day for Exercise Strike Warrior. As the carrier's own squadron, 820 provides both the anti-submarine Merlin Mk2s and the Crowsnest aircraft that guard the task group. Based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall when not embarked, the squadron has long served as the resident helicopter unit on Britain's aircraft carriers.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
