RAF 102 Squadron Halifax JD206 DY-T Pocklington c1943 Photo Print
Handley Page Halifax Mk II Series 1A JD206, a Royal Air Force four-engined heavy bomber of 102 Squadron, waits at her dispersal at Pocklington in Yorkshire, photographed from low in the grass off her port bow. A David Brown tractor stands ready behind her tail to tow her away, an airman walks towards her nose, and her code letter T, serial and roundel show clearly against a summer sky with trees along the airfield’s edge.
The Halifax first flew in October 1939 and went on to carry a large share of Bomber Command’s offensive alongside the Lancaster. 102 Squadron gave up its Whitleys for Halifaxes early in 1942, was adopted by Ceylon that February, and flew from Pocklington through the height of the bomber war. JD206 took off from Pocklington shortly after midnight on 22nd June 1943 for a raid on Krefeld. She was badly hit by flak over the Dutch coast and later ditched in the sea, and all seven of her crew were rescued.
This print is ideal for 102 (Ceylon) Squadron and RAF veterans, Bomber Command families, and anyone with a connection to RAF Pocklington.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
