RAF 17 Squadron Typhoon Pair Above Cloud September 2004 Photo Print
Two Royal Air Force Typhoons of 17 Squadron fly in formation above broken cloud in September 2004, in a photograph entered in the RAF Photographers Photographic Competition 2005. The nearer aircraft is a two seat Typhoon T1, seen from her port side and slightly above, with both crew visible under the canopy, the code AD on her fin and the squadron's black and white zigzag bars either side of the fuselage roundel. The second Typhoon holds position below and behind her. Through the gaps in the cloud lie green fields, stone walls and open moorland.
17 Squadron was formed in 1915 and reformed in 2002 as the Typhoon Operational Evaluation Unit, working out how the new fighter should be flown and fought before it reached the front line. The gauntlet on its badge recalls the Gloster Gauntlet fighters it flew in the 1930s. The Typhoon entered Royal Air Force service in 2003, and the squadron later took on the same test and evaluation role for the F-35B Lightning.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
