RAF 35 Squadron Halifax II W7676 TL-P in Flight c1942 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Handley Page Halifax Mk II Series I heavy bomber of 35 Squadron, W7676, coded TL-P, flies over the English countryside around 1942, photographed in colour from above and behind her port side with Flight Lieutenant Reginald Lane at the controls. Her dark earth and green upper surfaces and black sides stand out against banks of white cloud, with the dorsal and rear turrets clearly visible and a patchwork of fields and a winding river far below.
The Halifax was Handley Page’s answer to the same Air Ministry specification that produced the Avro Manchester, and in its four-engined form it became one of the two mainstays of Bomber Command alongside the Lancaster. 35 Squadron took the type into action first, raiding Le Havre in March 1941, and in August 1942 it became one of the founding squadrons of the Pathfinder Force. Lane and his crew flew twelve operations in W7676, but she failed to return from a raid on Nuremberg on the night of 28 to 29 August 1942 in the hands of another crew. More than 6,000 Halifaxes were built, and they served with Bomber Command and Coastal Command, as glider tugs and with special duties squadrons.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
