RAF BBMF Lancaster AR-L Over London September 2025 Photo Print
The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster crosses a sky of broken white cloud over London on 21 September 2025, seen in a gentle bank that shows the brown and green camouflage and roundels on its upper wings. The code letters AR and L sit either side of the fuselage roundel, and the name Leader with kangaroo nose art is painted beneath the cockpit. It passed over Westminster Abbey as the service of thanksgiving and rededication for the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain drew to a close.
Each September the RAF marks Battle of Britain Sunday, remembering the air battle of summer 1940 that officially ended on 31 October that year. The Abbey's RAF Chapel holds the Battle of Britain Memorial Window, unveiled in 1947. The port side of the Memorial Flight's Lancaster carries the codes AR-L of W5005 'Leader', a Lancaster of 460 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force, while the starboard side is marked as a 50 Squadron aircraft.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
